Welcome!

Hi! I'm looking forward to meeting you!

My name is Aibhne!  (pronounced Aiv-nee, an old Irish/Gaelic name meaning “river”)

I am an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE), and I am on a mission to make lactation & feeding support more accessible to families who need it!

I absolutely love working with families to help them build their new relationships and 'begin again' with a new outlook, new skills, helpful techniques and creative, compassionate support.

Bringing acceptance & nurturing care to difficult situations is a true honour, and I am endlessly thankful to be with families during times of massive transition in their lives.

I am also a Childbirth Educator who specializes in Maternal Health, Pregnancy Nutrition, and Infant well-being.  I teach Pregnancy Heath & Prenatal Breastfeeding Classes as well as Childbirth Education Classes & Newborn Care Workshops.

I'm so excited to share my new "Learn to Breastfeed: On-Demand Lactation Coaching Video Course", which is available now for Pre-sale!

Some of the feeding & lactation issues that I can help to resolve and bring clarity to are: sore/damaged/cracked nipples, slow infant weight gain, babies who are not yet latching or having difficulty maintaining a latch.

Many of the babies I see are having challenges that lead to fussiness, crying or colic behaviour, and some are refusing the breast completely!

It is NOT TOO LATE to get the support that you and your family deserve!

I can help if your baby is falling asleep at the breast, waking frequently, not waking to feed on their own, or if you are wondering if they may not be getting enough at the breast.

I can help to optimize your positioning so you are comfortable and pain-free while you are feeding & connecting with your baby.

I can support you to adjust your milk production so it matches your babies needs, or if you are concerned about a decrease in your milk supply, or issues like engorgement, blocked ducts, blebs, mastitis or candida (yeast) infections.

If you have questions about pumping, building a milk stash or return to work planning, I will support your goals, develop a manageable plan and help to ease the transition.

I have worked in diverse situations such as with premature &/sick infants, separation due to hospital stays in the NICU or illness.

I have experience helping couples induce lactation for adoption or surrogacy, relactate after supplementing or weaning, and with optimizing lactation after surgery.

I can also help out with tandem nursing, sibling interactions, child development, breastfeeding twins & multiples, oversupply, and much more!

Breastfeeding does not always start off the way you had hoped or planned. Your newborn baby is definitely new to this, and you may be too. As so many unexpected changes can happen during pregnancy, birth and early parenting, having a caring & knowledgeable support team can make all the difference!

We provide evidence-based, guilt-free, personalized care plans using real-life, solutions-focused approaches.

I am a strong advocate for informed self-determination in pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding & the magical transition into parenthood.

Compassionate and sensitive support in healthcare is absolutely essential to the safety and well-being of our children and families.

I strongly believe in the Lamaze Philosophy of Pregnancy, Birth and Parenting, which you can read about here (https://www.lamaze.org/what-is-lamaze).

I believe that childbirth and breastfeeding education empowers parents to make informed choices and take responsibility for their health, and to trust their ability to give birth, parent & breastfeed.

I am a member of Lamaze International and am a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE)!

I am a member of the Canadian Lactation Consultants Association (CLCA) as well as the International Lactation Consultants Association (ILCA)
